Great Caesar: Thursday 26/2/2026

More exploration of Vegas was on the agenda yesterday.   Someone thought that a walk down to Caesar's Palace would be fun.  A 2 km walk in the hot sun.

The Weather in Vegas has been warm and sunny, so unlike New York and Chicago.  No wonder we have so much luggage.  Warm stuff/cold stuff.

On the way we dropped into Planet Hollywood. More casinos, restaurants, you know who etc

Love the Eiffel tower

A special restaurant

And more

Las vegas show girls

We reached the Ballagio Hotel and its lake with gondolas. Really huge but pretty.

The Flamingo is also interesting but Caesars Palace, below, has to be the most ornate and interesting hotel/casino.

We didn't need lunch but had a fruit platter just to soak up the atmosphere and air conditioning. It was 30 degrees outside.

And some ideas for gifts.

And then we hurriedly left...  no more walking: taxi.

Back to our hotel for a late lunch at Gonzalez Gonzalez. The New York New York hotel must have over 20 restaurants/bars/cafes.

Paul's marguerita. had to have one.

After a rest, it was time to go to the fan day for the fans of the football teams competing on Saturday. Two British teams and 4 Australian teams.  Exactly where and when was difficult to ascertain. The Knights were being introduced later so we went a bit later.  Off we went in a Taxi in rush hour traffic with all those fans making their way to Fremont Street.  No number but it appears to be an entertainment precinct. Great.

As we  neared the street, there were hundreds of people also making their way to the street and traffic was almost at a standstill. The taxi driver would not just let us get out, as others were doing.  We were let out eventually but unable to connect with the tour people who had suggested we might get into a special area.  We joined the throng of unimportant people and tried to work out where to go. I could not see anything and there was no way of getting to the front or finding a spot where we could see something. The best bit was when the Hull fans sang their songs.  Otherwise however it was a bit scary. At least one person fainted.

So we left.

We went back to the Hard Rock cafe which was meant to be a Knights hub. There did appear to be a Knights function on but for another group.  We had dinner there anyway as it is very good and we knew they had gf food.

My cobb salad with salmon.

Paul's burger

From there it was across the road to our hotel and to our favourite piano bar.
We hadn't booked so joined the standing crowd but eventually we were found a table and stayed for more great music.

This is TV screen showing performance.  Paul and I are at the bar at this stage. I have red T-shirt on.

We eventually were sitting in the front row. So close. Too close.

Starting to get a bit wild.

There was an 80 year old woman celebrating her birthday with her grand children. She knew every song and danced in her wheelchair and even got up as in the first photo wearing bluish top.  She admitted to having been in a band in her youth and even showed everyone a photo of her band.  It was her night.  I am very happy to say she left before we did.

Tomorrow there will be more Knights stuff at a cocktail party and then more music with the Eagles.
